What we’ve been up to: “super helpful” writing training

August at Broom & Moon has been all about training. Highlights of the month include workshops for both a lovely bunch of internal comms peeps at BT and our old friends at recruitment firm Aldrich & Co.

A client from EE brought us in to share ideas with their BT colleagues on how to understand and write for different readers, as well as adapt their writing for different channels.

Meanwhile, the brilliant recruiters at Aldrich & Co were looking for a shot of writing inspiration. We’ve trained them before so we knew the group were already great writers. But they needed help applying their friendly, approachable tone of voice to business development emails.

In the sessions with both BT and Aldrich, we were blown away with the pieces of writing the group produced. It’s so satisfying to see the quick progress people can make with a handful of pointers.

All our workshops are tailored to the needs of that particular team, with all course materials based on real-life examples of participants’ writing.

That’s because we know from experience that being able to apply the theory to your own work is what creates the lightbulb moments.

Here’s what the team at BT said about our workshop:

Loved it. Super helpful.

Please, please, please may I have the PowerPoint deck? 😊 I’ll use it to prompt myself and refresh my memory – and for a bit of stakeholder management.

Very informative and tailored specifically for internal comms teams.

Really good. Please come back!

AMAZING! Completely changed my mindset on writing.

And here’s what the folks at Aldrich & Co said:
